Celebrate Recovery

The purpose of First Presbyterian Church’s “Celebrate Recovery” is to fellowship, and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps, and 8 Recovery Principles.  This experience allows us to “be changed.”  We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another.  In addition, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our lives’ problems.

By working, and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually.

We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors.  This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most important, a stronger personal relationship with God, and others.

As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power – Jesus Christ.

My name is Janice. I have been married 17 years to a loving, supportive husband who has been by my side through my struggles with mental illness. It is by God’s amazing grace I am alive. At the age of 42, I made a serious attempt to take my life. With the help of God, my husband, my therapist and psychiatrist I have learned to manage my illness. Through my struggles with bipolar illness, God has given me a passion to help others. thecrystalisclear@gmail.com

My name is Kimberly and I am from Winter Park, Florida. I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in psychology. I am a 31-year-old single mother of two young boys. I battled with addiction for many years, but through the power of Jesus, my life has been redeemed and restored to something greater than I could have ever imagined. kimberlymarlowe86@gmail.com
